*We do not offer Seam Sealing Service for our Skyscape Scout and Lunar Duo Outfitter. These shelters are made of 190T Polyurethane coated polyester that requires Gear Aid's Seam Grip Plus FC to seam seal.
|Spacious||This tent is at home in a campground as much as atop a windswept ridge and large enough for four adults to sit and play a game of cards.|
|Secure||No matter how bad the weather, you can batten down the hatches for a comfortable night's sleep.|
|Ultralight||Lunar Duo offers no compromises despite the fact that it’s less than half the weight of your traditional tent.|
The Lunar Duo offers the most interior room of any tent in its class and weight range. Dual curved poles located on either side create a unique arched roof. Combined with a tent height of 45 inches and a width of 54 inches leaves so much interior space you've got room to spare.
With dual oversize vestibules, each person has plenty of weatherproof storage for gear. The Lunar Duo's two vestibules can be deployed to multiple positions. When fully open, it provides maximum cross ventilation, keeping you cool and those pesky mosquitoes at bay. They can be raised or lowered, ensuring that you can achieve the optimum configuration for the weather you're likely to encounter. The Lunar Duo's vertical sidewalls prevent rain falling into the tent.
Like all our shelters the Lunar Duo is designed to be pitched with adjustable trekking poles or with our fixed length aluminum or carbon fiber poles (sold separately).

I have always loved camping but have just recently started to gear up for backpacking and was struggling with the right tent to buy. I did months of research and ended up choosing the Duo Outfitter - which really wasn’t even on my radar at all! To me, this was the perfect 2-person tent (and yes, this is ACTUALLY a 2-person tent) that balanced price, weight and craftsmanship. I have yet to take it on an overnighter, but I finally got around to seam sealing it and no leaks so far! Woohoo! From all of the tents on the market, I feel this really checked all the boxes in terms of a good, affordable tent to transition from car camping to backpacking, while still being able to fit plenty of gear or a second person. Shipping was super fast and SMD included some patch material, a set up guide and some extra cordage for the guy lines. This is my first ever trekking pole tent, and set up was far easier than I expected. I’m so glad I chose a product from a cottage company like SMD instead of one of the various other companies on Amazon or the like. Hoping one day I will add the Lunar Solo to my gear closet as well. Thank you, Six Moons!!!
Great value, super nice tent does great in wind and no condensation. 5 stars Design features were were thought out. Entry and exit would like to see this change to the rainbow zipper. Super light for two man tent. Send me one to review six moon!
Overall this is a pretty good tent for the price. We set it up on a ground tarp of silnylon. The top is little tricky to get tight on uneven ground but otherwise it works great. Room for 2 with gear in the vestibules. Great job Six Moons!
My wife purchase the duo a year or so ago. She loved it! I was using a high rated hammock. It was good but difficult to use on the ground when no trees where suitable for hanging. So I decided to try it out. I'm very impressed. Set up is an ease. There's room to move around while keeping your gear inside and it's even comfortable for changing your clothes inside of.
Just got back from a 4-day backpacking trip in the White Mountains (NH), and the Lunar Duo Outfitter was great. Plenty of room for two people, and easy to set up (I have the Lunar Solo too, so I was used to setting up this style of tent). We stored our packs in the vestibules one night, but we kept them inside the tent the other two nights and still had plenty of room. I liked the curved poles that provide a wider ceiling and more head room. The one change I would suggest is to have a loop attached to the bathtub floor that would wrap around the trekking pole handle on each side of the tent. This would make it easier to stretch out the bathtub floor. The Lunar Solo has one of these loops and I think it works well. Not a big deal though. This is a great tent at a great price, and I highly recommend it.
