Silver Shadow Mini Hiking Umbrella

As others have noted the umbrella has to be manually folded down before it can be opened. This is to save weight I believe, and I really loved how light this was on first use. But the third time using this umbrella I was moving quickly and hadn’t pulled all the hinges down. When I went to open it one of them snapped in half exposing the wiring. It doesn’t seem reparable except with duct tape. I bought this hoping to strap it to my backpack while hiking so it’s disappointing that it broke right before my trip, and that simple user error can so easily lead to a break. I’ll be taking a cheap mini umbrella instead.

I like the fact that it’s foldable so I can pack it in my 25” or less suitcase. However, it’s so difficult to open (I really don’t know what the problem is; it could be a design flaw). My another trekking sun umbrella (25” long) is SO easy to open.

Packable and durable!

When you carry this umbrella, it’s like carrying a feather. Stands up to rain. Held its own in the wind.
