No: Choosing this option indicates that you would like to seam seal the shelter on your own. We sell the appropriate products on our website as outlined in the chart above.
Yes: Choosing this option indicates that you are paying an additional fee ($20 or $30 depending on the shelter) to have Six Moon Designs seam seal the shelter for you.
Over the years, Six Moon Designs has seam sealed thousands of shelters, so we know a thing or two about the process. If you lack the time or space to properly perform this task, you may consider us as an option. I will say there's nothing like seam sealing your own tent then weathering a storm safe and dry.
We generally allow two days for the tents to cure before shipping. This time can vary depending upon heat and humidity. During warm summer days, curing can be completed in less than 24 hours. On those cold humid winter days, drying can take longer.
To seam seal our shelters, we lay them out on a large table and the sealant is injected directly using a bottle with an applicator tip. We have found this method to be effective at penetrating the seams and will provide excellent water protection.
Once all of the seams have been coated, the shelter is then stored to dry in our drying rack. Unfortunately this is the step that’s most likely to cause problems, as hanging shelters can come into contact with each other.
This shelter to shelter contact can allow for some sealer to be deposited on exposed areas of adjacent shelters. This results in a cosmetic issue and in no way compromises the integrity of the sealed seams. If you wish to avoid this potential contact on your shelter, it is recommended that you seal your own tent.
If you purchase a shelter from us and are dissatisfied with the appearance of the seam sealing, you are free to return the unused shelter back to us. You have the option of a full refund or new non-seam sealed shelter. If you select the non-seam sealed option, you will be refunded the difference between the original price of the seam sealing and the shipment of the new tent.
The Haven Bundle includes both the Haven and Haven NetTent, affording you the versatility to tailor the setup for each trip. These two shelters together form a fully enclosed, two person, double walled tent with a bathtub floor.
The Haven Bundle is designed so that the NetTent hangs from the tarp rather than be supported directly by the poles. This configuration allows the tarp to be set up first or taken down last, keeping the inside of the tent dry in rainy conditions. If desired the Haven Combo can also be stored clipped together for even faster setup and take down.
Utilizing trekking poles for support, or our optional collapsible poles, the Haven Bundle has near vertical sidewalls, further maximizing internal space. Dual tabs on either side of the canopy allow the Haven Tarp to be hung from a line between two trees, eliminating the need for poles altogether.
The two pole design allows for a 48" wide canopy offering tremendous amounts of headroom. The peak is also offset toward the head, raising the canopy further from ones face and moving the headroom to a space more natural for sitting.
The Haven Bundle is equipped with two entrances and two vestibules providing convenience and storage space for both parties. The streamlined design provides maximum protection for a minimum weight.
