A nice tent, but with some flaws

I’ve used my Lunar Orbiter 4 times now, once in the winter and 3 times in the past month or so. Twice with rain overnight, one fairly heavy. It’s easy to set up, packs down small, and after my initial disappointment at finding the interior width to be 34” instead of the 44” that was mistakenly put on the website I ended up liking it a lot.

Last Saturday (Aug 23 2025) and yesterday (Aug 30 2025) I camped on the summits of 2 nearby mountains, both nights had 20-25mph winds and this led me to one of the flaws. The video I’m including was taken this morning (31 Aug 2025) and shows the flaws and some changes I’d like to see.

    1) The side guy line attachment points need reinforcements like those at the pole clip attachment points. Pics 1-5 show where the side flap to end panel seams are being pulled apart at the guy line points (and 1 poor stitching job on a pole clip reinforcement.) The space available at last night’s campsite didn’t allow me to pitch the tent head/foot into the wind, so the wind was hitting it on the side approximately 30° off the axis of the 2 door zippers. Not ideal, but you can only work with what you have to work with.

    2) The pole sleeves either need to be longer or extra clips are needed between the existing clips and the pole sleeves. The whole top of the tent flattens out when you stake out the vestibules and side guy lines because the upper halves of the poles do nothing. This makes the mesh sides loose and hard to zip.

    Those are the biggest ones…

    wonderful solo tnet

I have put it up inside and love the space and style. So looking forward to when snow is gone and I can put it to use.
