As other reviewers have noted, once you attach the black clips to the ends of the shock cords, you cannot remove them. This means the straps are permanently attached to one backpack. I solved the problem by not using the clips at all and just tying a simple figure 8 knot in each of the ends of the shock cords. Easy to remove, but they keep the shock cord from coming out of the cord lock. Simple and effective! I wonder why the designers didn't come up with either an easy to open clip or just use knots! Guess they never bothered switching packs...

This is a small enough item and saves no space to have it come in pieces and no instructions on how to put together. The teal low/green part is easy enough to figure out but that black piece doesn’t go on in any practical way!! Really annoying. I mean we’re paying $10 for something that probably cost 5 cents to manufacture you could at least put it together

The handsfree kit comes disassembled because the cords need to be wrapped around the backpack strap for it to work properly. Once the cord is around the strap, then you can slide the green and yellow piece over the end like in the picture provided. Once that is done, you will want to flip the back piece around and stick the ends of the cords between the space in the hinging end, and then closing it. Once the black part is closed, it is hard to reopen. Once the cords are on the strap, you will slide the umbrella between the pack straps and green/yellow cord lock, and tighten them around the shaft and handle, keeping one about shoulder height and one around mid chest, around the handle.

For those looking at the poor ratings - the black clip needs to be opened with the tip of a knife and pried outwards to open. Its actually very easy.
This works great around the handle of the umbrella. I used a Z-packs umbrella holster to clip onto the shaft of the umbrella higher up. No complaints here.
I would suggest adding better colors, the basic yellow/green are just OK. Gimme some teal and macaroni orange or something funky!

Once you clamp the black piece on the bungee there’s no way to reopen it…I lightly pulled the bunjee and it came out of clamp. Never got a chance to test it out on trail.
So ridiculous.

Assembly info is useless and this is generally a waste unless you want them permanently attached—because once you close the black tab it’s impossible to reopen. This information would be great in the video or description., not buried in a single review response. Otherwise it’s just a waste of $10. Wish I hadn’t purchased. Now I have one I can’t use at all (tab won’t reopen).
