Tyler "the Prodigy" Lau took his first steps on the PCT in 2016, wide eyed and nervous as heck. Having worked on trail crews, conservation projects and teaching trail work across the country, he knew one day his path and long distance hiking would intersect.
4 years later Tyler had hiked the PCT twice, with the second time as a part of a Calendar Year Triple Crown (CYTC). In 2018 Tyler became the 10th person ever and first Asian-American to complete the CYTC. During the hike, he also had a goal of raising $1 for every mile he hiked, reaching his $8000 goal on the final day.
Given the mental and physical toll the CYTC took, Tyler took a break in 2019, focusing on rock climbing before finishing the Colorado Trail and reassessing the next big adventure.
