COLTON J. COSBY

Colton J. Cosby, given the trail name "Samwise" is a hiker, backpacker, and a photographer who cherishes every moment of every day. Born with Cystic Fibrosis, he has chosen not to let his disability hinder him from experiencing life to the fullest. The many medications and nebulizer treatments and his other routines to keep his lungs and airways clear to make him healthy, he has learned to incorporate these challenges he faces into his hiking, even a usb rechargeable nebulizer he found online. Colton began day hiking sections of the PCT in Southern Oregon and built up his confidence with training which lead him to possibly being the first person with Cystic Fibrosis to thru hike the Oregon Coast Trail in 2021. Colton hopes to inspire others and those with CF to achieve their own dreams and hike too. It just takes a little more planning. Colton is in the process of planning more long distance hikes, beginning with the eight hundred mile Arizona Trail in March, then he plans on tackling the Oregon and Washington sections of the PCT toward the end of June/ beginning of July. Colton is honored to be an ambassador for Six Moon Designs and is excited to share his love for their gear with others he meets along the trail. Samwise hopes to see you out on the trail.
