26.2 oz - 743 g Pack
The Flight 30 Ultra is light, fast, and oh so comfortable.
The Flight 30 Ultra is the perfect pack for trail runners, mountain bikers, speed hikers, and anyone looking for a low volume. With multiple harness options and adjustable torso, this pack is sure to fit any BODY.
With the Flight 30 Ultra, we’ve stripped away all the useless frills and given you a pack with the right features to get the job done.
Sits high above the waist so as not to interfere with the natural movement of your hips.Vest harness keeps the pack close and secure. No more bouncing and swaying. Option to add UL hip belt for even more stability. Highly adjustable so you can easily dial in your perfect fit. Lean design means no hang ups when negotiating cross country through narrow trails and brush. Stays with you no matter how fast you change direction.
The Flight Ultra is a 30L daypack – or multi-day pack if you’re into going super ultralight. Unlike the Flight UL, the Flight Ultra has a new large capacity bottom pocket made of woven nylon, making it even easier to stash and access items on the go efficient, small volume pack.
There are also 3 pockets on each side of the vest, large stretch pockets on both sides on the front of the pack, daisy chain webbing, and a bungee stasher.
Everything you need is within easy reach. With so much convenient storage, you won’t have to shed your pack until you’re ready to make camp.
The Flight Ultra comes in two fabric options - Robic™ nylon or our new X-Pac VX21 fabric. X-Pac VX21 is a robust fabric by Dimension Polyant. It is made using 3 layers of 210 denier fabric making it not only waterproof but very abrasion-resistant. While VX21 is waterproof the packs themselves are not water tight. We recommend using a 50L Pack Liner.

Shoulder Straps or Vest Harness?By: Six Moon Designs
Flight 30 Ultra OverviewBy: Six Moon Designs
You won’t regret it. The pack has more straps loops and pockets than anything in its weight range. The best harness system is perfect for fast packing.
Even though I haven't had the opportunity to put this excellent pack to use yet, I found it much bigger than what I had anticipated, and can't wait to give it a go in action. Everything fits just right after a phone consult with staff, who were knowledgeable and friendly.
My wife purchased this pack for me. I previously talked with Graham with concerns over my height and how the pack would fit. The detailed answers to my questions made me decide to order it. I’ll start off by saying his customer service was excellent. He was of a similar build and height 6”1".
I personally do not like flashy bright packs and the olive drab color is perfect. Also, I like the markings and symbols as they are not standout white but a nice subdued lighter shade of the pack. Very pleasing.
I haven’t carried a lot of weight in it yet but about 10 pounds carries really well. My traps and shoulder can bother me at 8-10 pounds but with the vest harness I feel very little in may shoulders. The design makes me feel a comfortable even pressure over the entire pack. Waist, back and torso all feel even weight - extremely comfortable. Easy to reach the water bottle pockets. It feels good speed hiking while using hiking poles. I plan on using it for x - ski.
There is nothing I dislike about this pack. Appearance and design top notch.
My first trial run with this bag was a *great success*. I did a 40 mile loop in PA with my novice backpacker girlfriend, and the bag handled really well the whole time.
I came from a Sierra Designs Flex Capacitor, which is a 40-60 liter bag, but I noticed I had a fair amount of extra space with that bag, so I decided to upgrade to this. The internal capacity seems correct at 30L but you can add a few by extending the collar. I'm happy that this ability exists, because as the weekend went on I seemed to be carrying more and more of her gear - funny how that happens :)
The webbing system on the back of the bag is incredibly easy to use and firmly held everything I have strapped to it, including tents or shoes. The side pockets are stretchy enough to hold my cooking system (solo stove). The bag is frameless so the way you pack it will change how it rides - so not using stuff sacks for things like clothes and sleeping bags will help make the bag less bumpy since it'll fill the space.
Ok, let me get into the adjustability of this bag - this thing has got more straps and buckles than an industrial shipping yard, and it's worth it. You can change the placement of the load lifters, the hip belt has two straps per side, and the chest strap has like 10 inches of adjustable area. It took me about 20-25 miles to get it dialed in right, but then I pretty much forgot about adjustments after that. There are a lot of straps hanging down once you're all strapped in, but they were never knocking against me or anything so it wasn't a problem.
The hip belt pockets are large enough to hold water filters, phones, small notebooks, or even just cool rocks you find on the ground. The pockets are easily opened with one hand too! There's also a stretchy pocket beneath the bag that you can reach around and easily access while walking. It's great for larger stuff you need periodic access to, like sunscreen or trash.
If your base-weight is like 7 pounds or whatever, this bag will be too big for you. But if you're lightweight - like around 10-20 lbs, this bag is versatile enough to handle whatever you throw at it - or in it. I don't own a scale so i'm not entirely sure what weight I was at, but judging by my ability to reverse-curl the bag, it was about a 25lbs wet weight. It stuck to my body like glue (once sized correctly and strapped in) and I was unencumbered with it even when jogging downhill.
All in all, it's a fantastic bag at an unbeatable price.
