Pack Organization

The Flight Ultra is a 30L daypack – or multi-day pack if you’re into going super ultralight. Unlike the Flight UL, the Flight Ultra has a new large capacity bottom pocket made of woven nylon, making it even easier to stash and access items on the go efficient, small volume pack.

There are also 3 pockets on each side of the vest, large stretch pockets on both sides on the front of the pack, daisy chain webbing, and a bungee stasher.

Everything you need is within easy reach. With so much convenient storage, you won’t have to shed your pack until you’re ready to make camp.

Materials

The Flight Ultra comes in two fabric options - Robic™ nylon or our new EPX200 fabric. EPX200 is a robust fabric by Challenge Sailcloth. It is made using 3 layers of 210 denier fabric making it not only waterproof but very abrasion-resistant. While EPX200 is waterproof the packs themselves are not water tight. We recommend using a 50L Pack Liner.

Well made, comfortable fit.

I bought a competitors pack at the same time to compare and six moons was far more comfortable. It is well built and has lots of useful features.

Not much to say at this point...

I can say that customer service was excellent in providing information to help me decide between the Robic Nylon and the EXP200 fabric. Much of the country I tend to go into can be pretty rough on a pack, so I am happy that I decided to go with the more durable EXP200. I also got some good information about the various hip belt options. In this case, two of the three options were currently sold out in my size (Large), so I went with what was available, with the thought in mind to replace it down the road if need be. This will be my first experience with a vest type harness, so that will all be new to me as well. I will be able to tell you more after I can get out in the field and actually start using this pack. First impressions are all positive!

Maybe work the weight

I ran about four or five miles in this pack to test it out. It looks great and is super functional. It held everything I needed it to for camping and the load-bearing system was wonderful. I wish everything were closer to my back by spreading across as opposed to sticking out away from my back. The biggest problem I had was the weight. For a fast pack, it really needs to be about 6 to 8 oz lighter. It weighs as much as my 55 l hiking backpack. Other than the weight, this pack is wonderful and could have been the last fastpack that I would ever own.

A bit bouncy, but well built.

I chose this pack because of the capacity and vest-style harness. I tested the fit on a 7 mile trail run with about 20 lbs. The pack bounced a lot, especially with the hip belt tight. The bouncing improved once I loosened the hip belt, but it didn't go away completely. I think I can improve the bouncing further when I dial in the fit a bit better. The pack was built well and was really comfortable when I walked rather than run.
