No: When you choose this option you are indicating that you would like to seam seal the shelter on your own. You can do that by purchasing SilNet
Yes: When you choose this option you are paying an additional fee ($20 or $30 depending on the shelter) to have Six Moon Designs seam seal the shelter for you.
Over the years, Six Moon Designs has seam sealed thousands of shelters, so we know a thing or two about the process. If you lack the time or space to properly perform this task, you may consider us as an option. I will say there's nothing like seam sealing your own tent then weathering a storm safe and dry.
We generally allow two days for the tents to cure before shipping. This time can vary depending upon heat and humidity. During warm summer days, curing can be completed in less than 24 hours. On those cold humid winter days, drying can take longer.
To seam seal our shelters, we lay them out on a large table and the sealant is injected directly using a bottle with an applicator tip. We have found this method to be effective at penetrating the seams and will provide excellent water protection.
Once all of the seams have been coated, the shelter is then stored to dry in our drying rack. Unfortunately this is the step that’s most likely to cause problems, as hanging shelters can come into contact with each other.
This shelter to shelter contact can allow for some sealer to be deposited on exposed areas of adjacent shelters. This results in a cosmetic issue and in no way compromises the integrity of the sealed seams. If you wish to avoid this potential contact on your shelter, it is recommended that you seal your own tent.
If you purchase a shelter from us and are dissatisfied with the appearance of the seam sealing, you are free to return the unused shelter back to us. You have the option of a full refund or new non-seam sealed shelter. If you select the non-seam sealed option, you will be refunded the difference between the original price of the seam sealing and the shipment of the new tent.
The Lunar Solo Limited Edition is a special version of the Lunar Solo. It features a stronger more durable and waterproof floor that does not slip like a sil-nylon floor.
As with the Lunar Solo, it's hexagonal shape spills wind and sheds snow making it a very secure home in severe weather.
Its low hexagonal shape easily spills the wind no matter the direction. Short steeply sloped sides handle snow or high winds with ease. A generous canopy covers a 26 sq. ft. sleeping area plus 8.5 sq. ft. of vestibule storage. The 48" peak height, set in the middle of the tent maximizes room for sitting and taking care of chores.
The sleeping area is surrounded 6 inch deep bathtub floor, topped by 6 inches of mesh. This ensures excellent ventilation while keeping you separated from low canopy walls. This keeps you drier on those occasions when condensation forms on the canopy.
The vestibule is set on the long side of the tent to maximize views and ventilation when fully open. Close it and you've got phenomenal protection from the worst storms.
