Trekking pole tents are great if you plan on moving from campsite to campsite. If you are stopping for a day and heading off on a side trip, you have to either leave your trekking poles behind, or drop your tent. These poles give you the option of leaving the tent pitched AND taking your trekking poles on a day trip. The poles also work perfectly for car camping or when you loan your tent out to somebody else. The five section poles allow me to pack them away inside my Lunar Duo Outfitter tent bag. These are a great addition to my kit.
Very good quality, lite poles.
Holds up very well and super light. Definitely recommend for the Skyscape Scout if you don’t use trekking poles.
Got a pair of these poles for our Haven 2 during a road trip when my trekking poles went missing. I'll still use trekking poles instead on actual backpacking trips. But these little aluminum tarp poles are so easy to use and plenty strong. Also it turned out my husband, who is an "active" sleeper, was much less likely to knock these little poles askew during the night. (Happens a lot with the trekking poles.)
