The Daybreaker ultralight backpack is the most versatile daypack on the market.
The Daybreaker’s simple design with amazing versatility proves that “the devil is in the details.” With a main compartment that is large and spacious, deep, stretchy angled side pockets, a gusseted shove-it sleeve, and perfectly placed pockets throughout, it will be your go-to bag for every adventure – from peak-bagging to backpacking, globetrotting to days around town, and everything in between.
This clean, simple daypack was designed to be the ultimate adventure bag. It is the result of years of traveling, backpacking, and outdoor adventures. Each feature was added with the utmost intention.
The two tall side pockets are deep enough to keep your 1L water bottles safe and secure, even when being tossed into an overhead bin, while being placed at the perfect angle for easy access during hikes.
Constructed out of 210 denier Robic™ nylon, the Daybreaker is ruggedly durable yet lightweight. The wide EVA padded shoulder straps help distribute the load, making it very stable even at full capacity.
Hate losing your keys? We do, too. That’s why glove hooks are conveniently placed in both zippered pockets.
And the super cushy EVA back panel that adds comfort and stability to the pack? It doubles as a sit-pad.
It’s the modern all-in-one you’ve been searching for. We just really enjoy this pack and think you will, too.

Perfect for my day hiking needs. Also, pretty stoked on the top expanding up making it around a 30 liter bag. Looking forward to using it for my primary bag on an upcoming trip.
Great whether you have a little or a lot to carry! It’s extremely light and a super cool bonus is the removable sitting pad!
My second SMD backpack (OG Swift!) and 4th SMD product, this bag exceeding a high expectations set by those. It's a bit big for just a quick hike, but the lazy dog doesn't carry his water so I'm usually loaded up. This bag would carry a sub10lb weekend load ok - but I bought it for my day hike habit. In this use I don't mind a little extra weight for a lot extra usability. Pockets and straps and such are well-done, all things you need, little of what you don't. The quality & details like the 3D lid elevate this from a cottage-gear bag to "is that from a retail store?" still at the cottage-gear weight, and deep pockets for the dual 1L bottles, sit pad etc. I don't LOVE shoulder pockets, and these aren't removable. But they hold a phone or dog cookies well so I'll adjust I'm a really picky shopper and keep coming back to this company for the same reasons. We balance a lot of variables (cost, weight, ... ) and they get them right
I got this for 3 , perhaps 4 season use, which would include mountain hiking in Maine. This pack is simple but has all the features you really need. Enough separate pockets but not too many. I particularly like the big outside pockets, which are big enough to stow lightweight crampons and ski poles. Having said that I would caution that unless the poles really collapse they could tip out easily if snagged. The pockets on the shoulder straps were just right for camera and Inreach GPS The pack is terrifically lightweight without seeming flimsy, less than half the weight of its predecessor. I do a lot of bushwacking and I have no concerns that this will shred. The waist belt and sternum straps are simple but do the job. The buckles are small and not to be done with mittens.
This daybreaker bag was excellent. I went on a 3 day backpacking trip and lemme tell you this back held up greatly. I’m a 5’6” skinny male and i packed this thing to the brim with equipment. It felt comfortable at all times. I felt like a badass wearing this too, it has like a tactical look that i love. But overall great bag
