Fusion 50 BackpackBy: Tom Willard
After trying way too many different packs over the years this one seems to do everything I need a pack to do. I like the traditional feel of the suspension coupled with the minimalist feel of the bag. The second generation Fusion 50 with it's improved side pockets, included harness pockets and what seems to be slightly larger bag volume fixed everything I wanted to change on my first gen Fusion 50. Design, comfort, durability and function, it has it all.
The Fusion 50 is the best backpack I've purchased. It's my first Six Moons buy and will not be my last. Very comfortable while carrying heavy loads, or even just a few things on a short hike. Buy this pack and you will not regret it.
I wanted to try this pack out because I have a lunar solo that I absolutely love. A few years ago I got rid of all my internal frame packs and went to an old external frame pack that carried better than anything I had previously owned. As for the Fusion 50, the price Six Moon Designs was asking for it I thought why not give it a try. Well to be as light as it is I expected thinner materials, but the fabric is quite tough. The stretch material is stronger than anything I have ever used and should hold up quite well. The belt pockets are easy to access and bigger than I thought they would be. The harness pockets are handy to store a compass, and small GPS sized items. Everything I need for a 5 day hike fits inside the pack, and there is enough room left that if I attach the tent outside, ten days worth of food will fit fine. The five day weight plus water is 27 pounds. Amazing, its the lightest I've ever had a pack weigh. Can't wait to actually go hike some trails with it. Thank you Six Moon Designs.
I purchased this pack to use as a weekender pack and just tried it out for the first time last weekend in the Adirondack High Peaks. The suspension system works great and the pack swallows a bunch of gear. I was very impressed with the quality of the pack for the price.
Love my Fusion 50 this is my second one, my second because I also recently picked up a Fusion 65 for winter camping. My first Fusion 50 has many miles on it and has plenty miles it on it but I liked the minor changes in the new model Fusion 65 that I got the new 50 because it's my GoTo pack. I have a Luna Solo tent as well you guys make good equipment.
